Becoming a dentist was a lifelong dream for Dr. Marcus Capalbo. Growing up in a family of dentists, following in his grandfather, father and brothers footsteps was always a dream of his. Dr. Marcus is the 7th dentist in his family. His father and uncle still practice in the office founded by his grandfather in Westerly, RI.

“I learned a lot from my father. He has the greatest work ethic of anyone I have ever seen and he did his very best to instill that in all of us. I always took great pride in studying and working hard in school and it’s something that has carried over to my professional life.”

After his brothers went into the field, Dr. Marcus was more determined than ever and moved to Boston after college to study at Tufts University. After 4 years, Dr. Marcus returned to Rhode Island to practice with his family and fulfill a lifelong dream.

“Dentistry is so rewarding, whether it’s showing someone with a lifelong fear of the dentist that dental treatment can and should be painless, or it’s giving someone a brand new smile. Every day you get a chance to help improve the lives of your patients and that is the best part of my job. I’m so fortunate to not only do what I love everyday but to do it with my family”.

Dr. Marcus graduated from Providence College and then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. At Tufts, he earned a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry degree. Following dental school, Dr. Marcus attended the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the UConn Health Center Hospital. Dr. Marcus still continues his education, taking classes and attending seminars all of the country.

    • “Dr. Marcus My dental appointment today was the best dental experience ever in my 62 years of life. I have what I like to call “dentist” phobia!!! I did not feel any discomfort at all. I waited for the discomfort of “the shot” , did not happen. Waited for the painful drilling, did not happen. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment. Everyone, from Dr. Marcus and his staff were “awesome”!!! Definitely will recommend to friends and family!!!”
